2012 Spring Workout/Tryouts

All Iowa Attack will be holding a few workouts for current AIA high school players that high school seasons have ended prior to the start AIA practices. We want to give these kids the chance to continue to be in the gym and get ready for the spring and summer basketball season. So, HS players, please see the times below for these workouts and please attend if your high school season is over in order to get some great workouts before real practices start!

These workouts will also serve as tryouts for new potential AIA players. So, if you are wanting to try out for a team this season, please do the following:

If you are a 2nd-11th grade boy, please email Dickson Jensen at ddjensen2010@gmail.com and Lefty Moore at keithmoore14@yahoo.com and let them know you would like to try out for a team and provide us with a little information about yourself such as school, experience, size and goals. Also let them know which workout session you will be attending and this will serve as your tryout.

For those of you that are wanting to tryout please know that we will only be filling a limited number of spots on our rosters for most ages as most players will be coming back from last year.

All training and camps are open to AIA and non-AIA members, unless otherwise noted.
Interested in extra skill training work? Scroll below to contact one of our trainers.
Registration for ALL camps must be completed on the form provided at the bottom of this page.
Please register your athlete for the camps as your 2011-2012 school year.
All camps are run by our AIA coaches and staff.
We are committed to maximizing the athletes’ time while in the gym, so please always arrive 15 minutes prior to the workouts.

All Iowa Attack continues its tradition of developing young athletes and aiding in the process of continuing their basketball careers at the collegiate level. This past November, All Iowa Attack, had 12 2012 alumni sign National Letters of Intent with the following Institutions:

HIGH SCHOOL SPRING CAMPS

Spring Break Camp (8th – 11th): March 12 – 16

This 5-day camp is focused on preparing the athletes for the spring AAU basketball season. The morning sessions from 10am – 12pm will focus on functional body movement including balance, coordination, speed, and conditioning. The afternoon sessions from 1pm-3pm will focus on key offensive skills and defensive tactics. During the lunch break (athletes expected to bring own), AIA coaches will offer up key intangibles that will make you a stand out to any coach as you prepare for the NCAA viewing periods in April. High Performance Weekend (AIA HS GIRLS Only): March 17 – 19

This unique opportunity is for only players within the AIA High School Girls Program. Preparing for showcase events and playing in front of evaluating college coaches is going to require an increase in your performance. Come join this full weekend event as AIA coaches spend 12+ hours with the athletes in preparation for the important spring and summer ahead. Summer Prep (8th – 11th) : May 29 – June 1

Ready to prep for the summer basketball season filled with camps, tournaments, and key showcase events? Come join AIA coaches as we spend 2 days focusing on 1 on 1 Attack, screening reads, and transition play. During the lunch break, coaches will hit on important pieces you should know for this summer including appropriate travel etiquette, proper bench behavior, and many other little things that make you stand out to any coach. AIA Fall Tryouts

All Iowa Attack will be holding tryouts to fill a limited number of spots on our girls and boys 2011-2012 youth rosters. If you have a strong passion for the game of basketball, are a skilled player and have a desire to improve your basketball skills, knowledge of the game and compete at a very high level, browse our website and sign up for tryouts to see if All Iowa Attack would be the right choice for you. Our tryouts will be held in our private facility at West Towne Courts, 1005 Dickinson Ave., Ames, IA 50014 on Sunday, August 21.

AIA Alumni Camp Pictures

All Iowa Attack is pleased to host the first AIA Alumni Camp. A few of AIA’s past players and current college basketball players were able to spend a few hours with the AIA players. Attack kids along with the alum went through a college practice learning some important concepts of hard work, success, and responsibility. AIA players were also given the chance to ask the alumni any questions and getting their autographs/pictures.

AAU National Champions!

Big congratulations to the 10th grade Jensen and 9th grade Johnson teams on their 1st and 3rd place finishes! Both team finished in impressive fashion down in Orlando at the 2011 10th grade AAU Nationals. AIA Jensen finished 6-0, winning the first national title for the All Iowa Attack program. AIA Johnson also played at an extremely high level finishing with a 6-1 record, losing only to 10th grade Jensen. Coach Johnson’s team earned a third place finish despite playing up one age group. The championship was broadcasted on espn3.com and can still be viewed through that website. Both teams competed extremely well and All Iowa Attack was represented at the highest level.

Good luck to all girls finishing up tournaments this summer during the live period! Teams will travel to the Tartan Meltdown in Minneapolis, Battle of the Plains in Kansas City, and Nike Nationals in Augusta.

Attack Athletes Noticed as the Best

Many of the AIA high school girls and boys will be attended Nike invitational and other elite camps this summer. In the ones they have already competed in, they represented All Iowa Attack at the highest level. A few Attack athletes were also selected to attend the USA trials.

Marcus Paige is currently ranked #27 in the 2012 recruiting class according to ESPNU. Adam Woodbury and Mike Gesell also cracked the ESPNU top 100 chart at #50 and #80 respectively. Paige is ranked the #1 point guard for his class with his teammate, Gesell, close behind at #12. Woodbury is currently ranked #12 for centers in the 2012 recruiting class.
