Big congratulations to the 10th grade Jensen and 9th grade Johnson teams on their 1st and 3rd place finishes! Both team finished in impressive fashion down in Orlando at the 2011 10th grade AAU Nationals. AIA Jensen finished 6-0, winning the first national title for the All Iowa Attack program. AIA Johnson also played at an extremely high level finishing with a 6-1 record, losing only to 10th grade Jensen. Coach Johnson’s team earned a third place finish despite playing up one age group. The championship was broadcasted on espn3.com and can still be viewed through that website. Both teams competed extremely well and All Iowa Attack was represented at the highest level.

Good luck to all girls finishing up tournaments this summer during the live period! Teams will travel to the Tartan Meltdown in Minneapolis, Battle of the Plains in Kansas City, and Nike Nationals in Augusta.

Congratulations to the AIA 16U and 17U boys Nike EYBL team for getting invited to the Peach Jam!

The AIA high school boys teams were selected as one of the top 40 teams in the country to compete in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. Throughout April and May they travelled from coast to coast playing against the best of the best. After the first three Nike invitational tournaments, the AIA 16U and 17U boys teams both finished within the top 24 to earn an invitation to the EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina from July 12-15, 2011. Finishing in the top 24 teams also secures the high school boys with another Nike contract for next year.

The AIA 17U boys compiled an impressive 10-5 record with a fourth place finish in their respective division. Our high school boys are led by Marcus Paige who has verballed to play at the University of North Carolina next year. Paige is surrounded by a very large cast of nationally ranked college prospects. These highly recruited athletes are in for a fun summer competing against the nations best before finishing their senior years of high school and continuing their basketball careers at universities down the road. For more information about EYBL, rosters, stats, results, schedules, and much more information, check out the EYBL website at http://www.nikeeliteyouthbasketballleague.com/.
